Understanding Your Role in Care Training

Overview
Covering Standard 2 of the Care Certificate, this online training course makes users aware of their role, behaviours and standards expected of them in a care setting.
This CPD Accredited course takes roughly 25 minutes to complete and will provide the user with a printable certificate upon completion of the three easy-to-digest sections of the course.

Course Contents
This course consists of three sections:
Section 1: understand your role
The first part of this course clarifies the expectations for your role. It outlines the duties you will undertake, the level of competence you should demonstrate, and the attitude with which you should approach your daily tasks. This section ensures that you understand the core aspects and boundaries of your job, to help you plan and manage for your caseload.
Section 2: rights and responsibilities
The second part of this course details the relevant legislation for your position, to help you understand your own rights, as well as the responsibilities you have for the care of others. Here, you will learn the nuances of topics such as confidentiality, to ensure that you are able to safely make decisions for the wellbeing of vulnerable people.
Section 3: work well with others
Section three of this course provides practical techniques for working with others, highlighting the foundation of a strong working relationship in care as trust and clear communication. You will learn how to bring the resources offered by others to your caseload, for the benefit of your patients and your own wellbeing.
About the Course
This course is designed to help care professionals manage their duties and responsibilities with a full understanding of what is expected of them in this role and, importantly, what is not. It introduces relevant legislation for the protection of care workers and their patients, and provides techniques for working with colleagues, sharing resources for the benefit of all.
The Understanding Your Role in Care course contributes to a syllabus of awareness courses that make up the care certificate. Standard 1 of this certificate requires staff to:
- Understand their role.
- Work in ways that have been agreed between them and their employer.
- Understand working relationships in health & social care.
- Work in partnership with others.
This course works alongside the 14 other awareness courses that make up the care certificate standards.
Offering practice-based information and advice, this course acts as a precursor to the practical training required to obtain the care certificate.
