Spill Kit Training: Bodily Fluids

Overview
This course details what a spill kit for bodily fluids contains, the risks associated with the spillage of bodily fluids, and how to attend to such spills when they occur. It is specifically designed to help you to comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) 2002.
This CPD Accredited course provides the user with a printable certificate upon completion of the end-of-training test.

Course Contents
This course consists of two sections:
Section 1: spill kits
Section 1 examines the parts that make up a spill kit and how to use them so that you are ready to respond to a spill in a safe and efficient manner and avoid the spread of infection.
Section 2: dealing with a spill
The second section of this course demonstrates the procedure for dealing with a spill, including how to use the enclosed PPE to protect yourself. This is not intended to replace your company or organisation’s spill kit procedure, so make sure to read it if you have one.
About the Course
The Spill Kit Training (bodily fluids) course is designed to prepare learners to deal with unexpected spills, which may cause infection or damage to people and the environment if left unchecked.
The course begins with an overview of what the spill kit contains and how to recognise and use each item. A spill kit will usually consist of some form of personal protective equipment (PPE) and materials to absorb and contain fluid spills prior to a deep clean.
In the second section, the course demonstrates a step-by-step procedure for managing and cleaning spills.
