PUWER Training
Overview
This online training course teaches the user how to keep safe when using work equipment. It aims to help organisations work towards compliance with PUWER.
The course will help the user to understand how to properly maintain equipment, what equipment PUWER applies to, and will also help them to show commitment to the regulations.

- What equipment falls under PUWER and how to maintain and inspect that equipment.
- How to use protection tools such as guards, controls and power presses.
Course Contents
This training course consists of three sections:
Section 1: PUWER responsibilities
Section 1 of this course outlines the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations; what they mean and to what they apply. It addresses who is responsible for what and how to ensure compliance.
Section 2: safe standard
In section 2, the safe standards surrounding PUWER are identified and explained. This includes equipment maintenance, minimising risks, inspections, special considerations and whether the equipment is fit for purpose.
Section 3: protection and controls
The final section of this course examines further measures for safety and control relating to the use of dangerous equipment. This includes using guards, controls and stop controls, power presses, and mobile work equipment.
