Overview

This course in Modern Slavery explains what slavery is, where it is likely to occur, and how to recognise and report it. Addressing the points in the Modern Slavery Act 2015, it offers practical guidance on how your organisation can help detect and prevent modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking.

Designed to help employees at all levels, this CPD Accredited course provides the user with a printable certificate upon completion of the end-of-training test.

Learning Outcomes

Course Contents

This course consists of two sections:

Section 1: modern slavery spectrum

Section 1 of this course defines the situations that fall under the umbrella term ‘modern slavery’, including servitude, forced labour, and human trafficking. Using case studies, it explains the signs that modern slavery might be occuring and what to look out for.

Section 2: you and your organisation

Section 2 details how you and your organisation can help to stop modern slavery, in accordance with the Modern Slavery Act. It discusses policies and procedures, as well as who to report to with any information you may have.

About the Course

 

The Modern Slavery training course is designed to raise awareness of modern slavery conditions in order to eradicate them. Someone is defined as being a victim of slavery if they are:

  • forced to work
  • controlled or owned by an individual or organisation that uses physical or mental exploitation 
  • dehumanised and is bought or sold as ‘property’
  • is constrained or has restricted freedom of movement
  • deceived into servitude

This course is broken into two digestible sections that explain the different types of slavery, the signs that it is taking place, and what to do if you have any information about, or suspicions of, slavery that is taking place.

Available in 31 languages, the course takes around 25 minutes to complete.
