General Workshop Safety Training

Overview

This course in General Workshop Safety discusses the risks around your workshop and how to prevent them, by teaching you the importance of safety signs and their meanings, and what to do in an emergency or when an accident occurs. It breaks down all you need to know to ensure compliance with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

Targeted at anyone working in a workshop, this CPD Accredited course provides the user with a printable certificate upon completion of the end-of-training test.

Learning Outcomes

Course Contents

This course consists of three sections:

Section 1: your workshop

Section 1 details the potential hazards that might be present in your workshop and the accidents that may occur as a result, as well as the responsibilities that employers and employees have to manage them. It also explains the situations in which PPE, health surveillance procedures, and permits to work might be required.

Section 2: safety signs

Section 2 introduces the different safety signs that might be found in a workshop, what they mean, and why it is important that their instructions are followed.

Section 3: preventing accidents

Section 3 provides a comprehensive list of dos and don’ts that should be followed in a workshop as a means of preventing accidents.

The General Workshop Safety training course is designed to educate anyone working in a workshop about the common risks of the environment, and the rules that are in place to ensure safe working practices.

This course includes details of common risks and how to identify them, how to select the protective equipment and practices relevant to the types of work being performed, an introduction to safety signs and their meanings, and the mandatory rules that ensure general workshop safety.
