Overview

Everyone who handles personal data must have a broad understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR – which is all about keeping personal data safe and protecting the interests of the people whose data it is.

Course Contents

This course consists of three sections:

Section 1: personal data

Section 1 of this course explains what personal data is, what it includes, and details of how it is shared and processed, and by whom. It also explains an individual’s rights regarding their data.

Section 2: the principles of data protection

Section 2 covers the key principles of data protection, which are essential guidelines for compliance with GDPR. It includes privacy notices, fair processing notices, and explains what is meant by consent.

Section 3: integrity and confidentiality

Section 3 focuses on the sixth principle of data protection: keeping data safe and secure. This includes the protection of data from being breached or leaked, as well as lost or stolen. This section includes details about who is responsible when it comes to data protection.

About the Course

 

The GDPR training course provides a comprehensive overview of the fundamental requirements for compliance with GDPR. It is important to note that the UK leaving the EU will not affect the commencement of the GDPR at this time.

This course includes an introduction to personal data and citizen’s rights for its protection, as well as a breakdown of the key principles of data protection and who is responsible for its safety and security.
