Consumer Rights Training for Retailers: Services

The course aims to help the user understand who the Consumer Rights Act applies to, know how to resolve any disputes, and understand the liability they have when it comes to selling goods.

This course consists of four sections:
Section 1: background and consumer rights
Section 1 details the purpose of the Consumer Rights Act and who it applies to, and defines the terms used therein.
Section 2: the supply of services
Section 2 focuses on the expectations of the Consumer Rights Act regarding services. It addresses what ‘services’ include and duty of care. It also explains the statutory rights of the consumer and what to do if something is wrong.
Section 3: terms and conditions
Section 3 looks at fair wording in relation to goods and services, including terms and conditions, contracts and notices. This section provides a list of terms that should not be used or that are likely to be challenged.
Section 4: disputes
Section 4 covers what to do in the event that a customer complaint about your products cannot be resolved by speaking with them directly. It introduces the concept of Alternative Dispute Resolution as a substitute for court proceedings.
