Course Contents
This course consists of three sections:
Section 1: what are bullying and harassment? Differences and similarities
This course begins with an introduction to bullying and harassment, in which each term is defined and the differences and similarities between them are presented. It focuses on how bullying and harassment manifest in the workplace, what behaviours are acceptable and unacceptable, and how to identify them. Finally, this section examines the role of management in preventing and confronting situations of bullying and harassment.
Section 2: what should I do if I’m being bullied?
Section 2 explains how bullying might be confronted in the workplace, through both informal and formal processes. It also details the short- and long-term effects of bullying on both victims and witnesses, and provides external resources that may be useful to you.
Section 3: creating a positive culture in the workplace
Section 3 explains what is meant by a positive workplace culture, and how you can contribute towards its development and implementation in your workplace. This includes guidance on good communication and respect, as well as how you can act on good intentions.
About the Course
The Bullying & Harassment Training course is designed to help employees at levels to contribute to a positive work environment that is safe for everyone. It works to define bullying and harassment, how these behaviours differ from each other, and ways in which they appear the same, before going into detail about how bullying can be recognised, confronted, and eradicated.
While this course offers resources to help those who have been bullied, as well as witnesses, to combat bullying and harassment in their workplace, it also offers several preventative measures for how to maintain employee safety and wellbeing, including the responsibilities of management in the control of aggressive behaviour at work.
